Black Beach is one of the beaches in Hancock County, Maine, United States. The Pearl River County in the north and Harrison County in the east lie adjacent to Hancock County. The nearest major town is Ellsworth which is separated by 9 miles from Hancock.

Historical significance

Storm Hurricane Katrina inflicted immense damage to the inhabitants and the infrastructure of this county in the year 2005.Huge damage was done to the buildings that are situated within 7 miles from the beach front. Rainbow Family, a hippy group arrived after Hurricane Katrina to help the destitute by providing free meals.
