Location

The Conochet Club Beach is situated in an area more commonly known as the Narragansett Beach. The beach is a part of the southern coastline of the Washington County, situated in the State of Rhode Island, USA.

Tourist attractions

The beach is a recreation spot for the residents of Narragansett. There is a large parking facility here with paved platforms and demarcated parking slots for vehicles. On the eastern edge of the beach is a club that has beautiful lawns and tennis facilities. The Conochet Club Beach has recreational facilities inside the club, but not many at the beach. The club also has a swimming pool for the members.

The beach is one of the popular beaches of the region. Hence one may find some visitors at the beach during the summer. The beach is a good place to enjoy swimming during normal wave conditions. Some boats can be seen nearby on the waves racing past the beach. Boating is a nice way of exploring the shoreline here. One may also try to paddle in the water if one has the time and the inclination. The long coastline offers adventures for hikers and many interesting beaches and ponds.

Some of the beaches nearby are the Scarborough South State Beach, the Plum Beach, the Bonnet Shores Beach, and the Dunes Club Beach. Some water bodies situated near the beach are the Pettaquamscutt Cove, the Silver Lake, Sprague Pond, Indian Lake, Wesquage Pond, and the Narragansett Bay.

Some interesting places that may also be visited while visiting the beach are the Rose Hill Golf Club, the Beavertail State Park, Point Judith Country Club, and the Fisherman’s Memorial State Park. Some other interesting places that may be visited here are the Cormorant Point, the Matunuck Shore Break, and the Little Neck.

Best period to visit

The month of February is the best suited month to visit the beach.

Access

The beach can be accessed directly from the Route 1A as it runs parallel to the length of the beach for some distance.

The nearest airport is the Quonset State Airport. The airport lies north from here and one may reach the beach by traveling south on the Highway 1.
