Location

The East Horseneck Beach is in the Bristol County of Massachusetts State of USA. It is in the southeastern coast along the Buzzards Bay.

Historical significance

The East Horseneck Beach is one of the beaches that are found in the Bristol County of Massachusetts. This beach is not quite a busy part of this coastline, but it is a good place to visit in this vicinity. It is also a great site for people who love visiting beaches. Bristol County was once known as Old Plymouth. Bristol came into existence on 2nd June 1685 when Old Plymouth was divided into three counties namely Bristol, Barnstable and Plymouth. Apart from the East Horseneck Beach, there are also many other beaches, campsites, national parks and ponds that can be visited in the Bristol County.

From the East Horseneck Beach, one can get a good view of the Black Rocks. The Westport Point is very close to this place and a trip to it will be very enjoyable. The Horseneck Beach is one of the very famous beaches of Bristol, is rather close by, and is worth a visit. People always love to visit the Little Beach and The Let which are close by. The Allens Pond is one of the very famous spots, which is very close to this beach. It is a great site to spend some time at. The Allens Pond also has a sanctuary which is worth a visit.

Water sports are not quite famous at this beach, but one can enjoy fishing, boating and going for a swim. The beach is good for walks, sunbaths, and relaxing. Children also enjoy themselves by building sand castles and decorating them.

A visit to a pond will give one incredible enjoyment and peace of mind. There are many ponds near the East Horseneck Beach and they are Allens Pond (2miles), Georges Pond (3miles), and Cockeast Pond (5miles).

Many national parks can also be found near the East Horseneck Beach. People can have a very good time in these parks. After a long day outdoors there is nothing like sitting and relaxing on a park’s bench. A few national parks that are close by are The Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor (41 miles), Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area (44 miles), Quinebaug and Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor (62miles), and Cape Cod National Seashore (69miles).

There are also many campsites, which are a few miles away from the East Horseneck Beach and where one can have fun and enjoy themselves by swimming, fishing, paddling and playing golf. Camping is such an enjoyable activity. One can also meet a lot of people from different places. A few campsites near the East Horseneck Beach are Westport Camping Grounds (7miles), Green Oceans (9miles), Middletown Campground (15miles), Forge Pond Campground (16miles), and Meadowlark RV Park (17miles).

People who love skiing can visit the ski areas, which are just a few miles away from the East Horseneck Beach. One can have great skiing experiences in these places. Blue Hills ski area, which is 34 miles away from the East Horseneck Beach, is a 309 feet vertical drop. It is an excellent place for skiing with a cozy ski resort. Yawgoo Valley ski area is another hot skiing spot, which is 33 miles away from the East Horseneck Beach with a 245foot vertical drop. Snow season is the best time of the year for skiing and snowboarding. Hanging out with a ski mate and a few exercises will make one delightful.

Best period to visit

The East Horseneck Beach has high level of rainfall during the month of November which makes the place rather wet, and it is driest during the month of June. So, except June and November, the other months are considered the best period to visit this beach.
