Location

The Slacks Pond Beach is in the Providence County of Rhode Island State of the USA. It is located along the Slack Reservoir.

Historical significance

The Slacks Pond Beach is one of the beaches that is found in the County of Rhode Island. The Rhode Island and its Providence County was founded in the year 1636 by Roger Williams. Some of the famous persons of the Providence County are George M. Cohan who was a popular actor and composer, and Jeffrey Osborne who is a singer and songwriter.

Rhode Island has many beautiful beaches and the Slacks Pond Beach of Providence County is one among them. The beach offers very many water sports activities. In the Slacks Pond Beach, one can go for swimming, fishing, golfing, hiking, whitewater paddling, and boating. This beach is also known to be a picnicking and family oriented beach.

The Slack Reservoir Dam near here is a nice place to have a look around. The Dam is about 17ft high and 250ft long. You will really love visiting the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor which is a non-traditional national park and is located over 400,000 acres. There are lots of interesting places that can be seen in this park. Another good place here is the Upton State Forest, which has 10 to 15miles of trailing roads where one can enjoy trailing. The Reaper Brook and the Sickkibunkiaut Hill are also close by where you can inhale the fresh air. A good view of the Sickkibunkiaut Hill is also available from the Slacks Pond Beach. It’s a splendid idea to pop up around the Mountaindale Beach and the Steers Beach. Apart from these there are also many campgrounds, golf courses, ski areas, and whitewater paddling areas that are nearby the Slacks Pond Beach.

The snow season is the best time of the year for skiing and snowboarding here. There are many ski areas just a few miles away from the Slacks Pond Beach. The Yawgoo Valley with 245 vertical feet (17miles), Blue Hills Ski Area with 309 vertical feet (33miles), Wachusett Mountain with 1000 vertical feet (40miles), and the Pine Ridge Ski Area with 200 vertical feet (47miles) are a few ski areas that are nearby. One can have a great skiing experience at these places.

A few whitewater paddling spots that are nearby the Slacks Pond Beach are the Clear and Branch (8miles), Quinebaug River (23miles), Matunuck Shore Break (25miles), Assabet River (28miles), and the Charles River (29miles).
